Jesse Tyson earned his MBA from the Fisher College of Business in 1976 after Dr. Frank Hale encouraged him to study at Ohio State. In recognition of all Dr. Hale did for minority students, Tyson recently established the Jesse J. Tyson MBA Scholarship Fund at the Fisher College of Business. "Dr. Hale was a tremendous man who made a difference in the lives of many minority students, including me. Creating a scholarship fund to honor his work and legacy was just one way I could give back to the college and the university," said Tyson.

President E. Gordon Gee announced the appointment of Joseph A. Alutto as executive vice president and provost for The Ohio State University. Alutto, former dean of Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business, served as the university's interim president following the retirement of former President Karen A. Holbrook and as interim provost since July 1. "Joe is the perfect candidate," said Gee. "For the past 30 years he has devoted his career to providing access to excellence in public higher education.”
